u.s. flag Edward Patrick McArthur, 64, of Pascoag, RI passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 10, 2024 with his wife and family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Doreen A. (Englehart) McArthur.

Born in Pawtucket, RI, he was a son of the late Joseph D. McArthur and Maureen H. (Lovely) McArthur.

He was a carpenter in the construction industry. Ed was a great fan of the Boston Red Sox, Boston Bruins, and his New England Patriots. He was proud of being a veteran of the United States Air Force.

Ed loved and enjoyed making people laugh. He was a true light and the life of any room he walked into. Many who went to school with him will remember him as "The flame!"

Ed enjoyed singing and would often belt out a tune while at the same time, spreading his joy. He enjoyed photography and shared many of his pictures with his family and friends. Ed also loved to inspire people with his own special way of delivering a message to them.

Edward loved his relationship with Jesus Christ and he prayed daily with his wife Doreen.
Another favorite pastime for Ed was doing online research on a daily basis.

Besides his loving wife Doreen, he is survived by a step-daughter Tonya Englehart and Ed's three step-grandchildren Britnie Carpentier of RI, Amber Mantia of CT, Aiden Mantia of CT. A sister-in-law Yvette Mulholland and her husband Richard Mulholland.

Also survived by brothers and sisters Joseph D. McArthur and wife Cynthia McArthur of CT, Dennis McArthur and his wife Donna McArthur of MA, John Michael Jude McArthur and his
wife Colleen McArthur of TN, Mary-Lou (McArthur) Bressan of RI, Terrence McArthur and his girl Lisa Gerow of NY, Loreen (McArthur) Thifault and her husband Kenneth Thifault of RI. Many nephews and nieces as well as great nephews and nieces who Ed loved and really enjoyed being around. Also, Ed is survived by many cousins that he loved.

A committal service will be in Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery with Military Honors in July. A date and time will be updated on this obituary July 1, 2024.
